The people in these scenes are fictional. ADHD is not. Research and clinical assessment—not one familiar behavior—are what establish the condition.
WHAT MAKES IT ADHD?
It keeps happening. It affects daily life.
Clinicians look for symptoms that started in childhood, keep happening across different situations, and cause real problems. They also consider other explanations.
A review cautions against a simple universal dopamine-deficiency account. The original “20,000” passage used hypothetical arithmetic—not a measured comparison with peers.
These examples explain possible experiences. They cannot diagnose anyone, reveal another person’s thoughts, or measure dopamine. Other conditions can cause similar difficulties. Understanding ADHD does not mean ignoring its impact on other people.
